Why Red Ox Yoga? My youngest two children are from China and this is how I honor their heritage. I was born in the Chinese year of the Ox along with my oldest and youngest sons. Those born in this year are known for diligence, dependability, strength and determination. All aspects I strive for on and off of my mat.

I am an athlete, wife, and active mother to five boys and one girl. In order to keep up with my large(ish) family, staying healthy is on the top of my priority list. I have completed countless 5Ks, half marathons, marathons and my new favorite distance, the 50K Ultra. I also enjoy participating in long distance bike rides (Door County Century Ride is my favorite). I have spent years on the sales floor helping athletes in various capacities in reaching their goals at Fleet Feet Sports Madison.

Before I tried it, I thought yoga was boring and meant only for really flexible, skinny people. But I quickly found many benefits from being on my mat: strength, balance and flexibility to support my runs and long busy days with my family. In addition, I love the mental benefit of yoga in everyday life, training, and on race days. I received my 200-hour yoga certification through the Yoga Alliance at the end of 2015. My training is focused on Vinyasa Flow through Root Down Rise Up. My purpose is to help others find the same benefits I have found whether they are training for Ironman or simply looking to live life to the fullest.
